RESTAURANT DESIGN

La Brisa Restaurant & Lounge

Originated from Japan, Izakayas are known as a form of pub/bar that allows people to gather and relax after work.

In recent years, the concept of Izakaya has been introduced in many new restaurants and is becoming a thriving trend in many major cities. By experiencing these restaurants, similarities were found in different cultures such as Spain and their famous tapas. Tapas are small plates usually consumed in the late afternoon or evening to complement the drinking. In comparison, Japanese culture emphasis on purity, simplicity, and minimalistic, whereas the Spanish background offers bold, exotic and flavorful elements.

The intent of this project/restaurant is to bring forth the contrast between the two cultures by introducing an upscale traditional Spanish tapas bar in Tokyo using solely local ingredients. The bold flavors of the cuisine distinguish from its surroundings while keeping the integrity of Japan. The Spanish-inspired theme would elevate the customers' experience through materials, bold bright colors and rough textile.

This six-storey restaurant serves to enlighten the stressful environment of the busy district in Tokyo, specifically Ginza. It allows professionals to mitigate stress from work.
